Building Children’s Resilience through Literature

Author Allen Rosales will present how teachers can use storybooks to build children’s resilience skills. Many young children come to the classroom with direct or indirect trauma. Therefore, educators have to understand children’s background experiences, identify the root causes for their trauma, and be ready to teach the resilience skills needed for children to overcome their challenges. In this presentation you will learn about seven essential components that help develop resilience through a literature-based inquiry approach to education.
