Anxiety; Why?

Everyone experiences anxiety. So, what is it and why do we have it? Does anxiety serve any sort of purpose in our lives?

In this session we will examine the role of the amygdala as being central to the formation of anxiety and its influence on other areas of the brain. With a focus on self-care, we will split our time between understanding the neuroscience of anxiety and discovering effective strategies that can be used to gain some control over our anxiety. While this session is designed for the Early Childhood professional, we will also entertain the question, if it’s true for us, to what extent is this true for children?
