Early Childhood Education and Care to Kindergarten Transition Planning, Strategies, and Techniques

The transition from Child Care, Head Start, Community Based Programs and Pre/K district classrooms to Kindergarten can be both an anxious and exciting time for many children and their families. During unprecedented times such as those related to navigating the pandemic anxious feelings increase and exciting feels decrease. More than ever, cross sector collaboration and the role of teachers, paraprofessionals and administrators is vital to assisting children and families through this process. Participants will explore evidenced based, developmentally appropriate transition strategies and techniques, that ensure continuity of care that support Kindergarten success for all students including multilingual learners and students with a disability.
