Interdisciplinary play and text sets for MLs and dual identified children

How can stories, play, and hands-on experiences work together to deepen learning for multilingual learners? In this session, participants will explore how intentionally connected books, oral language, vocabulary, and play experiences can build background knowledge while supporting language, literacy, and learning across content areas.

Participants will examine practical ways to create interdisciplinary text sets and transform them into meaningful invitations for play, conversation, investigation, and representation. Strategies will highlight how educators can increase access and participation for multilingual learners and dual-identified children while maintaining rich, engaging learning experiences for every child.
