Use of Child Portfolios in Authentic Assessment

During this training participants will assess and identify authentic, high quality portfolio samples. This workshop will allow participants’ hands on experiences in assembling samples that create a picture of growth or development over time; develop time-saving strategies for collecting and organizing portfolio samples; practice writing objective narratives for portfolio items; and identify how to use portfolio items to individualize instruction. Participants will also review how the IELDS and portfolio items are related, review the potential of using portfolio samples to inform the IEP process and review the importance of including families in the process of developing portfolios.

Note: Bring one of your portfolios with you to the workshop.  If your portfolios are online bring a laptop or tablet to the workshop so you can view them.
