Explore Science activities

The learning area of science includes demonstrating curiosity and a desire to explore and learn about our environment. Children who participate in investigations to learn about the world around them are engaging in the real work of scientists. They are asking questions, investigating, and trying out their ideas to find answers. Just like adult scientists, preschool children can make careful observations, collect and record data, and share their findings with others.

Explore the Science below.

  • Preschoolers have a natural curiosity about themselves and the world around them. Help them understand what living things need to grow.

  • Invite your child to listen, look, touch, smell and taste with you. Their senses are their primary means of exploring their world.

  • Technology is our future. Your child will be using a computer for the rest of his or her life, both throughout their education and in whatever career path they choose.

  • Technology is constantly improving. Calculators and video tapes were considered high-tech in the recent past, now your child may be familiar with DVDs, iPods and Flat-screens. Expose your child and make them aware of new technology around them.
