Cultural and Linguistic Resources for Illinois Higher Education

Welcome!

As the number of dual language learners in early childhood programs increases, so, too, does the need for pre-service teachers to understand the elements involved in creating a successful learning environment for this population.

This online, resource portal, is designed to provide you the foundational knowledge required to meet the unique linguistic, cultural, and instructional needs of dual language learners. The modules will lead you through readings, activities, and assignments designed to help reflect on and evaluate your own instructional practices as you prepare your courses at your higher education institution.
